Growing up in Israel was an incredible cultural and culinary experience. Israel had lots of immigrants from around the world who brought with them authentic dishes and unique cooking styles. Food was more than just fuel. It was a celebration of life, shared with family and friends.
Years later, after my daughter was born in the US, I started paying more attention to health and nutrition. I got deeply concerned about the exponentially growing rates of obesity and type 2 diabetes among adults and kids. I realized that there was an urgent need for creating healthier products, without compromising the delicious flavors that we all craved.
Thus Tulia was born. We decided to create a collection of snacks that was based on the principles of the Mediterranean Diet, and started experimenting with the same simple, delicious ingredients that Mediterranean families had enjoyed for centuries. And, we put them together the way Mama would, with lots of care and a big fat hug. The result was delicious, organic, plant based snacks that were free of preservatives, gluten, soy, nuts, and refined sugars.
